I'm posting late, but I did manage to participate in the Daring Bakers' Challenge this month! The October 2010 Daring Bakers challenge was hosted by Lori of
Butter Me Up. Lori chose to challenge DBers to make doughnuts. She used several sources for her recipes including Alton Brown, Nancy Silverton, Kate Neumann and Epicurious.
I used the doughnut base from Chuck (
recipe here) (because it looked easier than Alton's) and the glaze from Alton (
recipe here). I can't say that I'll be making them again soon since I had some trouble maintaining the temperature of the oil, but it was still fun to do. The weird thing is that now I want funnel cake. Mmmm....
